FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about Lagree, training with Sami, Viva Lagree, and instructor mentorship.
What is Lagree fitness?
Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact fitness method performed on a machine called the Megaformer (or Miniformer/Microformer for smaller formats). It combines strength, cardio, flexibility, and endurance training into a single 45-minute session. The method was created by Sebastien Lagree and emphasizes slow, controlled movements that keep muscles under constant tension.
Who is Sami Pierce?
Sami Pierce is a Level 3 Lagree Master Trainer, Co-Owner of Viva Lagree in Utah, and an instructor mentorship specialist. She started taking Lagree in 2017, certified in 2018, and has since built a career around teaching the psychology of language inside the studio. She helps instructors use words more intentionally to create emotional connections with their clients.
What does a Level 3 Lagree Master Trainer do?
A Level 3 Master Trainer is the highest certification level in the Lagree method. Master Trainers are qualified to train and certify other instructors, lead continuing education programs, and serve as ambassadors for the Lagree methodology. Sami holds this designation and uses it to mentor instructors and consult with studios.
Where is Viva Lagree located?
Viva Lagree has two locations in northern Utah. The Farmington studio is at 820 Shepard Ln, Farmington, UT 84025. The Layton studio is at 155 South Main St, Unit 101, Layton, UT 84041. Both locations are women-owned and operated.
What equipment does Viva Lagree use?
Viva Lagree uses the Miniformer Pro, a compact version of the Megaformer designed for studio environments. It provides the same range of exercises and resistance options as the full-size machine in a slightly smaller footprint.
Are Lagree classes at Viva Lagree covered by HSA or FSA?
Yes. Viva Lagree classes are HSA and FSA eligible through a partnership with Truemed. You can use your health savings or flexible spending account to pay for classes.
What is Sami Pierce's instructor mentorship program?
Sami offers one-on-one and small group mentorship for Lagree instructors who want to improve their cueing, coaching presence, and ability to connect with clients through language. Sessions cover practical techniques for class pacing, verbal coaching, energy management, and building client loyalty. Mentorship is available virtually and in person.
Does Sami Pierce offer studio consulting?
Yes. Sami consults with studio owners on instructor development, onboarding processes, continuing education programming, and building a strong studio culture. She brings the perspective of someone who co-owns and operates a multi-location studio with 18 trainers.
How do I prepare for Lagree certification?
Sami provides structured preparation for Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 Lagree certifications. Preparation covers technique fundamentals, teaching methodology, cueing practice, and exam-specific readiness. Contact her directly to discuss your certification goals.

Can I take a virtual class with Sami Pierce?
Yes. Sami teaches virtual classes through the Lagreeing at Home platform. Visit the Virtual Training page on this site for links and details.
What makes Sami Pierce's teaching approach different?
Sami specializes in the psychology of language inside the studio. Rather than focusing only on exercise technique, she teaches instructors how the specific words they choose affect client motivation, trust, and emotional experience. This emphasis on coaching language is what distinguishes her mentorship and workshop programs.
Does Sami Pierce offer workshops for studio teams?
Yes. Sami leads workshops and multi-session continuing education series on topics including cueing technique, coaching language, client retention through instruction quality, and class design. Workshops are available for individual studios, regional instructor groups, and virtual audiences.
How can I contact Sami Pierce?
Visit the Contact page on this website to reach Sami directly. You can also find her on Instagram at @lagree_with_sami. For Viva Lagree studio inquiries, email info@vivalagree.com or call 801-447-9576.
What is coaching language in a Lagree class?
Coaching language is every word an instructor says on the mic: the cue that sets up a move, the correction that follows it, the encouragement that carries a client through the last 10 seconds. Sami teaches instructors to choose those words on purpose, because clients forget the exercise order and remember how the room made them feel.
Do I have to be a Lagree instructor to work with Sami?
Most of her mentees teach Lagree, but the coaching language work applies to any instructor who teaches on a mic to a group. Pilates, reformer, and boutique strength instructors have worked with her on cueing and presence.
How long does instructor mentorship take?
A single class review runs about two weeks from recording to live session. Ongoing mentorship usually runs monthly, because change holds better when you test it across many classes and report back.
Does Sami train instructors outside Utah?
Yes. Virtual mentorship is available worldwide. You send a recording of a class you already teach, Sami writes timestamped notes, and you meet over video to practice the new language out loud.
